Questions

What is an ESL worksheet?

A worksheet for students learning English as a second language (ESL), also called English language learners (ELL) or English learners (EL). It practices grammar or vocabulary with short, clear sentences.

What should beginners practice first?

Most ESL programs start with the verb to be (am, is, are), classroom and family vocabulary, then the simple present for routines and the present continuous for what is happening now. The simple past comes after.

Can I match the worksheet to my student's level?

Yes. Pick a lower grade for shorter sentences, or use More options and choose "Below grade level". Differentiated mode makes three leveled versions of the same sheet in one click.

Are the worksheets in English only?

Yes. Instructions and questions are in simple American English, so they work for students of any first language.

Is there an answer key?

Every worksheet has one on its own page. The answer key is part of Unlimited.

Is it free?

You can make 1 AI worksheet a day for free. The word search, matching and spelling generators on the site are free with no limit.
